Inspection Report The quality rating for our service is 3 star. This means that the people who use this service experience excellent quality outcomes as detailed in our latest unannounced inspection in December 2008. A copy of the full report can be found by clicking here During the course of the visit by our inspectorate, discussions took place with those living at our home, as well as relatives and staff. The inspector made a full tour of the premises and examined our documents. Prior to the inspection, comment cards had been forwarded to residents, relatives and staff and these, together with Springfield Court’s annual self assessment form, were used to complete the inspection report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) -previously Commission for Social Care and Inspection (CSCI). The inspectorate found staff to be patient, spending quality time talking with residents and taking time to ask people questions in relation to their preferred routines rather than making decisions on behalf of the people living at Springfield Court. Our inspection confirms that the health, welfare and safety of those living at Springfield Court are promoted by all systems and equipment and that our staff offer flexible daily routines and a variety of choices throughout the day. We love to welcome visitors and bring the outside into our home. Some of our relative’s comments cards said ‘we could not fault the attention our relative received from the nursing staff who remained alert to his needs’ ‘I am very happy with Springfield Court. I feel at ease that I know my relative is safe in a well run, clean and warm home.’ ‘We dreaded the time our parents would need a nursing home. Our father was particularly negative about this. However, in his visits to our mother and when moving to Springfield Court himself he was very positive.’ Our inspection report concluded good outcomes for ‘Choice of Home’, ‘Health and personal care’, Daily life and social activities’, ‘Complaints and protection’ and ‘staffing’.
